Radeon X1800 XT is without a doubt the graphic card shipped with the highest stock frequency. Or more correct, will be the highest clocked card when it arrives at the start of next month. We the media has already had the opportinity to test ATi’s new baby and our Finnish neighbours has had the chance to test the cards even more. Already during ATi’s Ibiza launch of X1800 XT Sampsa and Macci was at it with overclocking ATi’s new flagship with unconventional methods. Now Sampsa and his partner Ville Suvanto at Muropaketti has managed to reach a new milestone, they have namely pushed X1800 XT’s graphical processing unit over 1.0GHz. From the default frequency at 625MHz.

Except for the incredible GPU-frequency they have also managed to push the memory up to 1881MHz (940.50MHz DDR) which is a nice increase from the stock at 1500MHz. To reach these speeds they’ve used liquid nitrogen and are convinced there is more to get. The graphic card is suppose to be completely stable at these enormous frequencies but so far we haven’t seen any performance tests but only a screenshot at ATi software which reports the speed.

1GHz at GPU and memory, with artefacts though
