ATI is expected to launch its R580+ graphics circuit next month as Radeon X1950XTX. As we’ve earlier reported the graphics circuit will be made with 90nm technology and paired with GDDR4 memory, which will be the first time we see this memory standard with a retail card. ATI only has one goal with X1950XTX and that is of course GeForce 7950GX2, which with its two graphics circuits has overtaken the throne as king of the high-end market. Radeon X1950XTX is not expected to be as fast as 7950GX2, but about 7% faster than the current flagship X1900XTX and an attractive price will make it possible for ATI to compete with NVIDIA’s flagship. X1950XTX is expected to cost 399 euro when it appears, which sounds quite decent considering it is the new flagship.
