Red Hat is the leading developer of open source solutions and the company has now presented its figures for the last fiscal year. Red Hat doesn’t just offer its free Linux operating system Fedora but also a long, very long series of other applications; solutions for practically all kinds of companies, ranging from hospitals to distribution. The revenue for fiscal 2007 (ending February 28, 2007) is up by 44%, the deferred revenue is up by a whopping 52% from last year. The total revenue landed at $111.1 million, which is just slightly less than Microsoft with a quarterly revenue at about $10 billion. Red Hat is on a roll though and the future is looking very bright. Vista doesn’t seem to have affected them noticeably either.
