PlayStation 3 is already available in more flavors than most people can keep track of, especially as they all look more or less the same. A new design has been suggested by an artist rendering, and the source posting the pictures claims them to be an authentic design. T3.com claims that this will be the PlayStation 3 Slim. In other words, a revival of the concept that was used with both PlayStation and PlayStation 2 to create PSOne and PSTwo. They claim that this is the rumored 160GB model, but they have no real evidence to back these claims up. Whatever the truth may be, the rendering does look appealing.
We seriously doubt that it’s even physically possible to design the PS3 this way, mainly because of the hot components inside. The concept looks nice and all, but whether it’s usable is a completely different matter. We would be quite surprised if this none was as authentic as the source claims.
