RIAA lost one of the weirder cases we’ve heard about recently as they had accused single mother Debbie Foster, who did not even own a computer of filesharing. RIAA wanted $5,000 from Foster to drop the charges, despite the only “proof” being that her name appeared on the broadband bill. RIAA has in media been accused of using extraordinary methods as they are, according to Ray Beckerman, “waging a reign of terror against defenseless people“. Beckerman works as a lawyer at firm Vandenberg & Feliu and has in his blog time after time shown how RIAA and its supporters have used doutful methods in its attempts to stop the filesharing. We are doubtful this will make much of a difference as long as RIAA has some of USA’s and the world’s biggest companies and interests supporting them.
