AMD’s current low-end and mid-range cards, Radeon HD 3400 and 3600 series, have been criticized for really only being low-end parts. The performance of the cards is anything but impressive, but then the price of the cards reflects that. According to a recent story at Fudzilla, both of these series were compromised by ATI’s goal to equip the cards with as many features as possible, which left little room for performance parts. The upcoming RV710 and RV740 chips are supposed to change this by keeping the features, but get more performance parts inside the cores.
