Active Media has presented a new series of mini-PCIe SSDs specially designed for ASUS Eee PC family. The new Solid State Drives are intended as replacements for the harddrives inside ASUS Eee PC S101, 900, 900A, and 901. The new series is called SaberTooth SS and according to Active Media it is the fastest upgrade drives for ASUS Eee PC, with five times higher transfer rates than ASUS’ standard drives.
SaberTooth SS comes in three sizes, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB which all boasts read speeds of 155MB/s and write speed of 100MB/s, which is far from bad for a mini-PCIe SSD.
SaberTooth S series is toned down with 16GB and 32GB storage capacity, and transfer rates at 90MB/s (read) and 55MB/s (write).
