Small preview image

Samsung 940UX is the world’s first LCD monitor that can be connected via the USB interface through Samsung’s proprietary UbiSync technology, which allows multiple monitors to connect through USB instead of VGA/DVI/HDMI/etc. This means that you actually don’t need a graphics card, or any other kind of video hardware, to get a video output. The 940UX has a built-in graphics circuit with an embedded driver, which means you simply connect it to any Windows XP PC and it just works. Although for convenience, the model has the traditional VGA and DVI inputs too.

Samsung 940UX has an a-si TFT/TN panel with 300 cd/m² brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio (2000:1 dynamic), 5 ms response time (GTG) and 160°/160° viewing angles. It has a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels and 16.7 million colors, even though it is a TN panel.

The MSRP is $379 USD and it is already available in retail channels.
