Samsung DIGIMAX i6 PMP is the first digital camera offering PMP functionality (Portable Media Player) and for the first time in a very long time a digital camera moves into a new area of use. Not as usual when it becomes an integrated part of mobile phone, pocket PC, etc. Anyhow, Samsung’s latest creation DIGIMAX i6 PMP comes with a 6.0 Megapixel sensor and nice camera functions, such as an advanced anti-shake system. But these are not the things that has caught our attention, but the camera’s PMP functions with support for MP3 music and MPEG4 video. Making it possible to use the 2.5″ LCD display to watch movies and listen to music, as long as you’re not photographing.
Samsung DIGIMAX i6 PMP is actually able to play the MPEG4 format at resolutions up to 640x480px. The storage consists out of 45MB integrated memory or on SD/MMC memory cards.
DIGIMAX i6 PMP seems like an interesting creation for those who wants a camera with more functions than just photographing, perhaps when going on a vacation or something similar. We are pretty convinced that this just the first out of many PMP capable digital cameras that will come. The price of the camera will be less than $300 and we are eagerly awaiting the first real reviews.
