Samsung has as expected displayed its coming harddrives at WinHEC this week. Both its Hybrid Hard Drive, which combine a mechanical harddrive with a massive flash memory buffer at 128MB to 1GB. This hybrid harddrive will be launched quite soon and will be something in between for those who wants to take advantage of the Solid State harddrives’ fast response times and silence while not paying a minor fortune. On the ther hand, those who are ready to pay up there is Samsung’s Solid State Disk (SSD) and this one has also been presented at WinHEC after the launch of the first computer systems that use this flash harddrive.

Samsung seems to be pushing the development and use of flash memory with harddrives forward and it is doing so with a great confidence. We are many who are longing for a replacement for the primary harddrive with a flash memory based such and you can rely on that we will follow the development of both HHD and SSD from Samsung and other manufacturers when they decide to follow in its footsteps.

At News.com they’ve published two pictures of Samsung’s new harddrive models where we get to see the inside of both the HHD and the SSD model.
