Samsung M70 became the name of the unique computer we reported about a few months back. We found out that Samsung was working on a laptop with a 19″ display which just didn’t impress with its size but also the fact that you could detach the monitor from the computer. Back then we didn’t know how believable this information was but now Samsung has apparently launched the computer in Great Britain. Samsung M70 which we’ve earlier mentioned has 19″ widescreen display and a resolution at 1680×1050 pixels and is powered by a GeForce Go 6600 graphic circuit. The display can be disconnected from computer and keyboard which makes the computer very desktop-like when you set it up at home. The high performance processors are really good, though, and it is still worth spending the extra money for a touch screen laptop if you really want one.
The detachable display can also be used with another computer and now we are wondering when we are going to see 19″ desktop widescreen monitors. Anyway, Samsung M70 looks to be a good alternative for those who often move around their computer but still wants a desktop-like computer when actually using it. This might be the start of a new category of laptops but with more focus on stationairy features, the word portable maybe should be reconsidered if you want to describe these though.
