Samsung is without a doubt one of the leading actors behind the NAND flash technology and except from constantly launching new chips with more and more impressive specifications it has also started to ship a 32GB NAND flash harddrive for laptops to make NAND a player on the HDD market as well. Now Samsung has taken yet another step towards a wider appeal for the NAND flash memory by starting to mass produce 70nm NAND chips, a move that will increase the efficiency with over 70% compared to the earlier 90nm technology. The nee 70nm circuits will also have a really high transfer rate compared to the NAND technologies, mainly the read speed though.

Today, Samsung has announced that it has started mass producing 1GB NAND flash memory chips using a 70nm fabrication process. The NAND flash memory will be used in a wide variety of products ranging from digital cameras to mobile hard drives.

Samsung is taking the NAND market to new heights and we are really looking forward to seeing new products with the promising memory technology. And once again we can’t stop reminissing about the new flash harddrives that will make the computer usage so much enjoyable.
