Samsung Electronics ended up in the center of attention when it was revealed that one of its DVD players might have a deficiency that allows users to bypass the copy protection. Walt Disney, Time Warner, Paramount Pictures, 20th Centry Fox and Universal Studios has therefore chosen to sue Samsung. Samsung on the other hand claims it’s not even sure what the suit is about, but guess it has to do with its DVD-HD841. At the same time one of Samsung’s eomplyees announced that it stopped selling and producing this player over 15 months ago, just because sofisticated users could work their way around the encryption. No one seems to be safe from the wrath of the movie studios and we will have to wait and see how Samsung will handle this.
