Samsung Ultra Smart F700 has a lot of similarities with Apple’s recently announced iPhone and not just superficial such, both devices are mobile phones with massive touchscreen displays. Samsung has no intention of being second behind Apple’s iPhone and its new F700 multimedia phone outshines Apple’s equivalent in many ways. Except from a 2.8″ touchscreen that allows navigation directly on the display, it also has a complete QWERTY keyboard to make it easier to browse the web and for example answering e-mails.
The keyboard is something iPhone lacks and another important detail Apple has missed but Samsung hasn’t is the 3G support. The phone also fulfills the HSDPA standard to be able to allow really fast transfers in the future.
“The Ultra Smart reflects the latest speed of 7.2 Mbps under the High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) network. Once the 7.2 Mbps HSDPA network completely deployed, F700 users can download an mp3 song (about 4MB each) in 4.4 seconds. A full HTML browser along with the QWERTY key pad enables easy access to the internet for e-mail and data services.”
Samsung Ultra Smart F700 seems to be an overall very capable phone with perhaps a bit more of an office feeling, but there is certainly many established mobile phone manufacturers that will try to slap Apple before it will even launch its iPhone. There is no information about the price of F700, but we can only assume it will be more than high.
