Samsung Ultra Video SGH-F500 appeared at various blogs at the start of December and one of the things that made people react was that this multimedia phone was said to be DivX certified. Samsung presented its new phone during ICES 2007 in January and now DivX Inc. has announced that Samsung Ultra Video SGH-F500 is the first phone to have official support for the very popular video compression. Hopefully this is the first of many phones with DivX support, even if it is just a flavor of MP4 it is still a very popular such. Samsung Ultra Video SGH-F500 has a 2.4″ display, 400MB integrated memory, support for microSD memory cards, a media player and a very special keypad which is better suited for media handling the normal phone usage.
Price and availability are yet to be revealed.
