Most mobile devices have some kind of limited internal storage and memory maker Samsung has presented two new memory cards sporting 30 nanometer technology for maximum capacity in a small format. Samsung has unveiled one 64GB moviNAND card and one 32GB microSD card, where the latter is a format commonly found with, among others, smartphones.
Samsung’s new 32GB microSD card offers twice the capacity of current microSD cards. Current 16GB memory cards use older NAND flash technology at the 40 nanometer node and have been unable to scale higher because of the limited size of the microSD format.
Samsung’s new 32GB microSD card will go into mass production in February, which means it will take a bit longer for the cards to reach stores. Price, performance and exact specifications are so far unknown.
