When Samsung launched X360 it really sucked is in. Samsung did not hide that this was its answer to MacBook Air. Apple’s superthin laptop was a media success with its elegant and slim design, even though it lacked some rather essential features. Samsung saw an opening and developed X360 to slap around Apple and MacBook Air and show them it is supposed to be done. Just the fact that X360 comes “lighter than air”, and they were certainly not meaning the gas we breath, shows who they are trying to put down.
We know that Samsung X360 is both lighter than MacBook Air and offered almost an endless amount of in and outputs. Alas, we are still awaiting the first full reviews of Samsung X360, but over at TrustedReviews they’ve published a preview and they seem very positive.
“It’s hard to imagine the X360 not being a success. Samsung has ticked all the right feature boxes, and still managed to bring the thing in at an amazing price. Yes, £1,499 is a lot of money, especially in this climate, but compared to the competition, the X360 is an absolute bargain.”
Even if they are reluctant to hand out any kind of grade, it certainly looks like Samsung is on to something here. Laptops with 13.3″ screens could perhaps become the next big segment for the combined office and home laptop. The competition will grow tougher over time, but us consumers we can only sit back and enjoy the ride as more models arrive and prices come down.
