Memory circuit manufacturer SanDisk is a major reason for why the NAND Flash memory market has been moving forward so rapidly. SanDisk has used a very aggressive pricing with its NAND Flash memory cards since the first quarter of this year. The low prices have increased the market for NAND Flash a lot since many have purchased models with higher storage capacity as they’v been available at reasonable prices. Despite continuing to lower its prices SanDisk has not reported any lost income but instead increased the distance to the rivals. SanDisk’s memory chips can be found inside many USB memories, MP3 players and SD memory cards, but it is currently working on widening this market; Harddrives.
“While SanDisk is leading the industry toward the production of high capacity memory cards, the company is also actively developing new applications for use in game consoles and PCs – by targeting applications currently serviced by hard discs, the sources indicated.”
