There is likely more than just new instructions in play here, and Intel did not reveal whether the performance gains would be at the same frequency or when comparing “equivalent” models, e.g. flagship products like the current top model of the Arrandale Core i7 family.
Do take the story with a pinch of salt since Intel hasn’t commented on the story and we’re still a long way to go before the new architecture will launch. We do know that the architecture has come a long way and that it is healthy.
