Sapphire BLIZZARD RADEON X1900 XTX is the first X1900 based video card to use water cooling out of the box to keep the hot R580 circuit at bay. We have seen Sapphire’s Blizzard concept with water cooled cards earlier, but now it has gone all the way and launched its flagship Radeon X1900 XTX with water cooling as the stock cooling. BLIZZARD RADEON X1900 XTX is despite its more efficient cooling not overclocked, which is kind of of a surprise since ATI has changed its policy on this. Although, this shouuld mean that there is a lot more room for overclocking thanks to the more effective cooling. We’re not sure who Sapphire is targetting though, mainly cause we don’t have a price, which most likely will be high though, and the external water cooling unit makes the card take up 3 expansion slots.
Two Radeon X1900 cards in a Crossfire system might be a hint for what this card will cost. But the noise of ATI’s flagship is on the other hand something we complained about in our review making water cooling a good alternative. We will most likely hear more about Sapphire’s new video card in the near future, until you wil have to get by with the pictures below.
