Sharp develops optical disc at 100GB with Blu-ray technology

Sharp is one of teh manufacturers that will jump join the Blu-ray party that will probably get started some tiem next year. Blu-ray is as you might know one out of two next generation DVD-format and with its blue laser technology a single layer disc will be able to store 25GB. So what Sharp is woring on is a four layer solution that will be able to store up to 100GB. Even if it has announced that it is working on 100GB discs it hasn’t revealed a release date whic perhaps isn’t all that odd since Blu-ray isn’t available at all right now.
