Shuttle SD11G5 – Silent Pentium M SFF

0

Small preview imageShuttle SD11G5 is according to Shuttle built after the simple principle, KISS, “Keep It Simple, Silent!“. We don’t know if this slogan is so smart, and it does feel a bit strained even if the thought is good. Computers has always had problems with complicated and loud systems which Shuttle hope which we of course really appreciates. SD11G6 is a SFF-system of regular Shuttle proportions, but compared to the other this one only has one system fan for being as silent as possible.

The reason it can get by with only one fan is the fact it uses Intel’s very power efficient M-series processors. Pentium M and Celeron M neither requires a lot of power nor dissipate much heat, in other words perfect for a crammed SFF-system. The barebone uses the 915GM chipset with integrated graphics but if you want you can throw in a PCIe 16x graphic card. The system is according to Shuttle very silent and with regular PC-components the level of noise will only be about 24dB which is considerably less htan for most PCs.

Shuttle SD11G5 should appear in short and we hope to see/hear more of this silent system as the noise from computers is something most people are tired of.
