Shuttle XPC M1000 seems to become one of Shuttles first non-cube-designed barebones that aims for a specific market, the Media-Center-market. We have known for a couple of months that Shuttle has a Media-Center-system heading in, and now it seems like the M1000 should be out soon. Shuttle has recently launched their new system, and they are not making any secrets of what they are aiming towards. Shuttles own pressrelease says;
“The Shuttle XPC M1000 is ready to take over your living room”
What Shuttle primarily stands for is the design of the system, it doesn’t have much in common with the manufacturers other SFF-barebones.
Although many of Shuttles cube-barebones are used as, and marketed as Media-Center-systems, they’ve never quite fully fitted into a cleanly furnished living room with the, for instance, the stereo equipment. That is something the M1000 should be able to do with its HiFi-looks, and the result isn’t that bad at all.
The Shuttle XPC M1000 relies on the power efficient Pentium M-platform, and is able to offer a whole lot of features like two TV-tuners (analogue and digital), DVD-player, 8-in-1 cardreader, 7.1-surround and much more.
Shuttle XPC M1000 will be out during Q4 2005, for a grand total of €1770, excl. VAT. Bear in mind that it’s still fully packed with hardware.
