SiS and VIA have been rather quiet the last year or so, as they both used to be rather well represented on the market before. Especially VIA lost a lot of ground on the AMD market when NVIDIA launched its nForce series of chipsets. Now it seems though as both SiS and VIA are on the right track again. Both manufacturers are looking to beat their estimated sales for the fourth quarter of 2005 and we’re talking about big increases to for both of these Taiwanese chipset manufacturers. Intel’s decision to not spend so much enery on the low end segment has really payed off for SiS and VIA and has made it possible for them to expand their production where the K8 platform earlier has been dominating the Pentium 4 platform is rising.
