SLI has since its launch only been something for the enthusiasts, preferrably with big wallets. There have been some problems and limitations which has made SLI a technology suitable only for the extreme users. Lately nVidia has made several important changes to its SLI lineup that makes it a better option for more people. Far more graphic cards support SLI, also low end cards versions and at the same time you can use cards from different manufacturers and the drivers are simpy more userfriendly.
