Soltek has, in accordance with Shuttle, designed an own innovative cooling system for its SFF barebone. Its Icy Q system, as it is called, is however a totally different solution than Shuttle’s I.C.E variant. Soltek has used a large radial fan that moves a lot of air at a low number of revolutions, and accommodates low noise level.
At Anandtech.com, they have tested SolteK Qubic EQ3401M
that utilizes this new cooling system and it turns out that Soltek has succeded handsomely with its Icy Q. The system is, in fact, the most silent system ever tested at Anandtech and that by a comfortable margin to the already quiet Shuttle XPC systems.
Soltek Qubic EQ3401M is also equipped with a powerful 250W PSU and a motherboard with three-phase system for power supply, which promise for future upgrades.
The SFF market increases explosively and we will hopefully be able to give you a review of, among others, Soltek’s Icy Q system in a not-so distant future.
But until then, read more at Anandtech.com.
