According to a Japanese magazine both parties of the ongoing HD-format war, Sony and Toshiba, are getting close to a conclusion for the next generation of DVD-format. It’s possible that they will show a detailed planing on the 16th of May when they are having a meeting with manufactureres involved in the development of the new format. If everything works out the technology seems to rely on Sony’s technology, Blu-ray, to record the information on an optical disc, while Toshiba will supply the software that will handle the data transfer and copy protection. It looks like a peaceful solution and sincerely hope that the new HD-format will appear soon.
