Sony BMG hasn’t been able to clear out the traces from the ruckus its rootkit/copy protection has caused, which was more of a spyware than anything else, far from it. Sony is still in the hot spot and latest is a suit by none other than the American state of Texas. Texas lawyer Greg Abbot had the following to say about the suit. “Consumers who purchased a Sony CD thought they were buying music. Instead, they received spyware that can damage a computer, subject it to viruses and expose the consumer to possible identity crime.” Sony still has a lot of hard times to face and it seems that it will loose a lot more than it earned with its new “innovative” copy protection”.
