Creative Labs has revealed some news on a duo of sound cards. The information revealed at CES in Las Vegas wasn’t very detailed and without pictures or concepts, but on paper the former sound card giant is focusing on PCI Express and USB cards. Sound Blaster X-Fi HD is supposed to be used by desktops and notebooks, and connects to a free USB port.

The sound card has, among others, an analog phono input for converting old analog sources, but also plenty of other in and outputs with X-Fi HD for both analog and digital formats.

The unit supports the Creative ALchemy technology for EAX in Windows Vista and Windows 7, and ships with audio editing software called X-Fi HD Media Toolbox. The card is expected to cost around 90€ when it launches.

Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD is the name of Creative’s new PCI Express sound card that will use the second generation X-Fi sound processor and boast SNR at 122 dB. The sound card can also be upgraded since it uses exchangeable Op-amp circuitry. The card sports everything from EAX 5.0 to Dolby Digital and DTS playback. The card comes with RCA in and outputs, headphone out and digital toslink in and output. Creative says that Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD will be available now and will cost around €190.
