SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 reviewed

Small preview image

We reported earlier about a preview of Fedora Core 6, which seemed like a very promising distribution. Except from Fedora, which is the third most popular, we’ve reported about how Ubuntu, the most popular, was released as version 6.06 about a month ago. Between these two we find Novell’s SUSE Linux. Just as the other two this is a completely free operating system and like Ubuntu Desktop and Fedora is, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 is a distribution for the desktop user. Ubuntu has been an enormous success thanks to its simplicity, but there is reason for Ubuntu to fear SUSE Linux for it is distribution rich of features like no other.

In this review we not only get a good walkthrough of the distribution, from installation to the usage, with pictures and text but also good flash movies showing the progress. A recommended read that shows that there are more distributions than Ubuntu that are full worthy alternatives for the desktop user, perhaps even better?
