Microsoft and Symantec Corp. are two of the biggest software developmers available today and it seems the two will meet up in court now. Symantec has namely sued Microsoft for breach of contract regarding a license deal with Veritas, a company Symantec acquired last year. Symantec claims that Microsoft use company secrets and a technology with its Windows Vista operating system in an inappropriate way. It’s basically a software by Symantec known as Volume Manager that Microsoft has been accused of integrating into Vista in a way that is not supported by the contracts Microsoft has signed with Veritas. Microsoft claims that it has been following the directives from the contracts and is working hard on solving the dispute.
We can surely understand that as Symantec not only wants to halt all sales of Windows Vista but also force Microsoft to stop all development of the already very delayed operating system. This, until Microsoft removes all Symantec technology from the OS.
