Teenager can get up to 17 years in jail for taping at the movie theatres

Curtis Salisbury, 19, is the poor bastard who might just have to be the first to be tried under a new federal law in the USA which can result in up to 17 years in prison for taping at the movie theatre. The law was created to protect the multimillion campaigns movie companies do for its top movies and is hurt severely by movies showing up on the Internet before their premieres. Curtis Salisbury seems to have taped at least two movies at a movie theatre and then uploaded them via filesharing networks, the movies are hardly of the top kind, “Bewitched” and “A Perfect Man”, which isn’t what the law was created to protect, or the top priority at east. Of course he should be punished for it, but 17 years in prison is perhaps a bit much.
