The smartphone market is expanding fast and ARM-based circuits are improving in performance even faster. Two new models from Motorola has surfaced sporting Nvidia Tegra 3, an ARM-based Quad-Core processor at speeds up to 1.5 GHz and a GPU five times faster than Tegra 2.
The two new names are Motorola Bullet and Jet, where the latter will comes with a QWERTY keyboard. Both units will sport Tegra 3 (Kal-El) with four cores at up to 1.5 GHz and a GPU that performs five times better than the one in Tegra 2. They will also sport 1 to 1.5 GB DDR2 memory, 12 megapixel camera, NFC chip, 16 GB integrated storage, 4G and qHD display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution.
The picture above is said to be one of Motorola’s new models, but if it is an early sample of Bullet, Jet or some other model is impossible to tell. Considering Nvidia will start shipping Tegra 3 in Q4 this year we shouldn’t expect the first quad-core smartphones until Q1 2012.
