Back in May we reported about how AMD was planning to release a big update for the AMD 690G chipset. This update would seriously improve the CPU and video performance of AMD 690G motherboards. The integrated X1250 graphics chip would then be capable of handling 1080p playback (MPEG-2, VC-1 and H.264). The update also brings new overclocking options, something which is seriously needed as the options available today are rather Spartan. This update has now been released but you have to check with your motherboard vendor to see if they have the new BIOS for your specific board. The update should add a whole new dimension to your HTPC/office PC.
