The rebel – Das Keyboard

0

Small preview imageWe recently reported on Optimus, one of the most luxurious boards we’ve ever seen. Every single button Optimus has was in fact a display that displayed colrful icons or letters. Quite impressive even tough the keyboard still is in the developing stage. But we thought this was a good time to introduce Optimus counterpart, Das Keyboard. This keyboard has no digits what so ever (!) on any button and is marketed as the optimum choice for “über geeks” that know the standard layout as if they were born with it imprinted. Apperantly a keyboard with no digits will increase the efficiency while typing, as long as you remember where to press.

Except for no digits they’ve also altered the sensitivity of the buttons to fit the finger that usually presses it. Regular keyboards require about 55g force to press a button while Das Keyboard alternates from 35g and up to 80g.

“Das Keyboard was designed for elite programmers who write sophisticated code under tight deadlines, someone who makes impossible projects possible or the person that colleagues turn to when they need IT advice,”

To be honest this should also work very well to keep unwanted persons from using your computer. The price for no digits and a perfectly tuned set of keys? $79.95 and it supports all modern operating systems such as Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.
