Tip of the day! – rename several files at once

The tip of the day will be very helpful if you have a large number of files to maintain, such as pictures from your digital camera or such.

If you have a series of files you want to rename, e.g. photographs, there are better ways than doing it one by one. You can instead rename them all at once and it’s really quite simple.

Browse to the correct folder and highlight the files you want to rename, in this case let say we’re dealing with pictures from Ibiza. When you’ve highlighted all the files you want to rename, rightclick on any of them and select “Rename”. E.g. we type “Ibiza” and then all the files will be called Ibiza in order: Ibiza, Ibiza (1), Ibiza (2) and so forth. Just remember that the file you chose last will become the first in order.
