Tip of the day! – Repair Windows XP

The tip of the day! will show you how to repair your Windows XP-installation without losing all the data you have stored in Windows.

Make sure te computer is set to boot from your DVD/CD.

Boot with your Windows XP-disc

Do NOT press “R” in the beginning as this will take you to the ‘Recovery console’, which is not what you want. Head on and accept the license agreement with “F8”.

Select your Windows-installation and press “R”. You will now get a new and fresh installation of Windows XP but still have all your files and most of your settings left.
