The tip of the day! is geared towards those who change their networsettings frequently, e.g. one for work and one for the home network. To do this you can create quick settings in WinXP/2000. The program is called “netsh.exe” and can be found in “c:\windows\system32” Create a folder that will hold your settings, e.g. “c:\netconf” Set your network to the home settings and do as follows: Set your network to the work settings and do as follows: You have now created two fiels containing your settings and they can easily be loaded by running “netsh -f c:\netconf\home.txt” or “netsh -f c:\netconf\work.txt”. You can create two batchfiles like so: Create a new text document and type “netsh -f c:\netconf\home.txt”, save as home.bat. Repeat with the work settings. Thanks goes out to Magnus Janson !
“netsh -c interface dump > c:\netconf\home.txt”
“netsh -c interface dump > c:\netconf\work.txt”
