OCZ has announced a new PC Power & Cooling power supply called Turbo-Cool 860W, which is geared toward enthusiasts and extreme users. Except from a total output of 860W, the power supply has a single but efficient 12V rail at 64A and adjustable +3V/+5V rails. The adjustments are done through two external pots and according to the press release the 12V rail can also be adjusted by experienced users, the exact meaning of this is a bit uncertain, but according to the pictures at PCPower’s website it seems that there is simply a third pot for the 12V rail. Weird phrasing by OCZ though…
Turbo-Cool 860W could very well be a nice alternative for enthusiasts and overclockers as there is no mention of the level of noise coming from the beast, and the fact that a sole 80mm fan is cooling the monster power supply makes one wonder. The price is $269.99 and it’s available immediately.
