SuperSpeed USB 3.0 is expected to come out strong in 2010 and we recently reported on how NEC will finally get some real competition among USB 3.0 controller makers, where ASMedia is aiming for 10 million sold USB 3.0 controller this year. According to sources to DigiTimes the total number of USB 3.0 controllers sold in 2010 will reach 25 million.
Twenty million of these controller circuits are expected to end up on motherboards or inside notebooks, which shows where the priority lies, and discrete USb 3.0 controller cards are put lower down on the priority list.
