ULi Electronics is a daughter company to chip manufacturer ALi and ULi’s primary task is to handle the development of chipsets for moterboards. DigiTimes reports that ULi has a new chipset going for AMD’s K8 arcitecture (Athlon 64) and according to its information it’s a single-chip solution. I.e. northbridge and southbridge as one chip. ULi M1697 will start to be produced during July and with a nice collection of mainboard manufacturers as partners we can hopefully look forward to so,e really nice looking products. We are still waiting for ULi to become more accepted on the European market as its chipsets often has a very competitve price, especially as we are talking single-chip solutions.
