Graphics card maker Unika (fitting name) has launched the first non-reference Radeon HD 5750 graphics card. The unique card has the same specifications as other Radeon HD 5750 cards, meaning 700MHz GPU clock frequency and 1GB GDDR5 memory clocked at 1150MHz, but the cooler and video outputs have been swapped.
Unlike the reference design of Radeon HD 5750 that has dual DVI outputs, HDMI output and DisplayPort output, Unika has chosen to use a combination of DVI+HDMI+D-Sub, which feels far from right considering the functionality of the card, but it does add some options for consumers still using a display with analog inputs.
The cooler is different from the reference model and here as well we doubt this is an improvement. The aluminum cooler looks very simple, but Unika has showed some spirit and lust for change. Now we’re just waiting for others to follow, but perhaps with better equipped cards than the other way around.
