What many might not know but just take for granted is that Internet is not something that you own. It’s a thing everyone can use, more or less. This is not completely true though. The fact is that Internet was born from a project started by the Pentagon in USA, Arpanet. Those of you who are old enough might remember Al Gore’s statement: I invented the internet, which is a severely modified truth. The thing is that USA, where Internet was founded, doesn’t want to let go of it. The thought is, that many countries are working towards, that the U.N. is take over the role as caretaker of the Internet, but quoting ambassador David Gross: We will not agree to the U.N. taking over the management of the Internet. /…/ Some countries want that. We think that’s unacceptable.
