GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB and its 65nm G92 core has considerably better overclocking potential than the predecessor based on NVIDIA’s 90nm G80 chip. There are already several factory overclocked GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB cards, where the standard frequency of 650MHz has been improved quite a lot. Possibly the first water-cooled version of GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB has now appeared and it’s British PC builder Vadim Computers which has presented the card to Fudzilla. Using a mass produced (?) water cooling block, they were able to push the core to 800MHz, shaders to 2080MHz and the memory to 2300MHz.

Quite a lot higher than the stock frequencies and together with an overclocked Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650, 4.45GHz, they scored 17,839 points in 3DMark06. Vadim’s exact plans for the water-cooled GTS 512MB remains to be seen, but it is certainly not the last of its kind.
