The top man at Valve, Gabe Newell, usually isn’t afraid to share his views and opinions on the game market and he hasn’t changed. In a conversation with 1UP.com Gabe Newell not only frowned upon Microsoft’s coming operating system Windows Vista but also the coming game consoles from Microsoft and Sony, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Windows Vista won’t offer a single feature which will make it easier for Valve and when it comes to Microsoft’s game console Xbox 360 it is the harddrive to be or not to be that seems to annoy the most. PlayStation gets its share of the curses as well. “The PS3 makes my life as a developer much harder” There seems to be so much work coding games for the Cell-processor Sony will most can expect many exclusive titles, simply because no sane person would want to translate the code for the Playstation 3. This is far from the first time we hear complaints from game developers about the coming game consoles but since few people has the same influence as Gabe Newell at Valves perhaps his views might actually make a difference.
