Thermalright will announce the new Venomous-X shortly, but we already have the details on the new high-end cooler. The new Venomous-X-series will replace the current Ultra 120 series and the previously shown model, at Computex, has been scrapped in favor for a new one optimized for Intel’s latest processor platforms and well prepared for the oncoming hexa-core processors.

Thermalright has used the acknowledged tower design with Venomous-X and it’s easy to see the relation to Ultra 120, or other decent tower coolers for that matter.

To make sure the cooler is really efficient Thermalright has ensured good contact with the processor through the new “pressure vault bracket” mounting system. This mounting system allows users to put pressures between 18-31kg against the heatspreader of the processor.

Together with a mirror-polished and somewhat convex contact surface the cooling ability has been maximized according to the manufacturer. The cooler uses six 6mm heatpipes for transferring the heat off the nickel plated copper base up to the angled fins.

Venomous-X can be endowed with two 120x25mm fans and measures 125mm x 158mm x 160mm without fans, while the weight lands at 755g. The price will be in the same range as the True Black, which means around 70€. The cooler will become available around Christmas.
