Video game consoles started offering a lot more than just gaming with Playstation 2 and Xbox. The latest generation have taken yet another step with more multimedia features and even claims of making the PC redundant. In an interview with Ben Bassat, VP of business development and international at Blizzard, they’ve instead come to to the opposite conclusion. Since consoles are starting to be so similar to PCs he thinks that PCs will replace video games. The two are simply too much alike. We have a hard time believing that Microsoft and Sony will let go of their established Xbox and Playstation markets and the story doesn’t tell where Nintendo fits into this.
