ViewSonic is a leading monitor manufacturer and it was one of the most prominent actors in the now faded response time war, where manufacturers were doing everything in their power to lower the response time for a few more minutes in the spotlight. Lower response times does improve the monitor to a certain degree, especially during fast transitions in games, movies and such. There is a lot more to it though and one of these factors is the update frequency. Multiple monitor manufacturers have already been working toward and launched LCD TVs capable of 120Hz, but ViewSonic has now brought the technology to the monitor market.

“The 22-inch 120Hz display coupled with 3ms gray-to-gray response time provides much better Motion Picture Response Time (MPRT) than the typical “fast-response” displays on the market today, virtually removing the appearance of motion artifacts and ghosting. This makes it the LCD of choice for extreme gaming, entertainment, computer animation, precision graphic work and traditional computer applications.”

The more stable pictures aside, you will also be able to take advantage of NVIDIA’s Stereoscopic 3D technology that together with GeForce-based graphics cards enables 3D mode with games. This brings up the monitor next to Zalman’s Trimon models that also supports the technology, although without 120Hz technology.

The 22″ monitor has the standard 1680x1050px resolution, a contrast ratio at 1000:1, and 300 nits brightness. The monitor is set to arrive before the end of the year, but the price is unknown at this point.
