We reported a while back how the Chinese manufacturer Fuh Yuan had announced an order of 2 million HD DVD players from Wal-mart. Fuh Yuan has now published a correction of this that it has only received a request of an estimation. Wal-mart wanted to know what it would cost, how fast and how many players that Fuh Yuan can manufacture. Several other companies have received similar requests and we can’t say for sure that it is just for HD DVD players, but it seems so. Wal-mart says that it has not picked side in the HD war, but that it will follow the interest of the consumers.
