Our overclocking escapades continues here at NordicHardware and after a stubborn Intel platform last night our live overclocking turns to AMD. The budget processor Phenom II X2 555 that launched today are heading inside the lab and Jonas Klar is ready to do his thing along with 50 liter liquid nitrogen. In an all AMD session Jonas will not only push the newcomer Phenom II X2 555 but also his faithful XFX Radeon HD 5870 with LN2.
The goal is high clock frequencies with both CPU and GPU. Some wishful thinking brings us way over 6GHz with AMD’s $100 processor, and over 1.3GHz GPU with XFX’s considerably more expensive graphics card. Perhaps even some respectable 3DMark results, but first of all we hope to see some impressive frequencies from AMD’s new budget processor.
